This past week was my Senior Year Spring Break and my travels took me to the beautiful blue waters of Nassau, Bahamas. It was great to get out of the cold, snowy weather and soak in some sun with a great group of friends. We booked this trip through a student travel group known as Student City and we stayed at SuperClubs Breezes Resort & Spa for 5 nights. Here are my top 6 highlights from spring break in the Bahamas!
1. All-Inclusivity
A major perk about Breezes resort is it is ALL INCLUSIVE. You have access to all you can eat drinks and food 24/7. The breakfast buffet, the lunch buffet, the pool grill, the bar, and dinner buffet are all free! It is great not having to take out your wallet to purchase a drink or a snack (especially when you are a broke college student!) Bahama Mama anyone?
2. Beautiful Beaches & Pools
The scenery of the Bahamas is stunning! Get lost in how crystal clear, blue the water is and how the sand sinks in between your toes. It is incredible to see your feet in the water compared to swimming in the murky Atlantic Ocean. Seeing the palm trees as you leave the Nassau airport really gets you in the mood for your beach vacation. Our resort was located on the gorgeous Cable Beach that connects to a strip of different resorts (including the beautiful Baha Mar). The pools are super fun, especially when they have a swim-up pool bar.
3. The Night Life
My friends and I purchased an additional party package through Student City that gave us access to clubs off the resort. Breezes does not really have a nightlife experience, so we needed this wristband to continue the partying. We went to Aura at Atlantis, Bond at Baha Mar, a Rum distillery, and Margaritaville. Aura and Bond were my favorites (and definitely the craziest) and the drinks at the clubs were ten times better than the ones they served at our resort.
4. Easy Access to Baha Mar & Atlantis
Breezes resort is a 10-minute walk to the stunning Baha Mar resort. Baha Mar was a $4 billion project to build on the Bahamas. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was recently shooting their vacation episode here. It is definitely a luxury resort that has EVERYTHING…from Starbucks, to a casino, to the beach, stunning pools (with a waterfall), cabanas, shopping, food trucks, delicious restaurants, and a park filled with flamingos. If I ever come back to Nassau, I will definitely be staying at Baha Mar. Atlantis is about a 25-minute taxi ride over the bridge from Breezes to Paradise Island. I was not able to see a lot of Atlantis since we only came here at night for the club. My goal is to go down that pool slide through the shark tank one day. From what I saw, Atlantis is gorgeous. It’s like a luxury aquarium with the number of massive fish tanks in the lobby. We followed the underground cave to the hidden fish tanks that not everyone can find. I did sadly lose all of my money at the casino, but it was worth the fun!
5. The Private Island Day Party
On our last day in the Bahamas, we took a booze cruise to a private island called Sandy Toes. It was about a 45-minute boat ride from Atlantis to get to the island. I honestly thought it would be a Fyre Festival scheme at first, but it ended up being one of the best days of vacation. The island was breathtaking and we had it all to ourselves. We even had a lunch buffet and unlimited rum punches or vodka lemonades…all included! I ate lunch on a balcony that overlooked the entire island and the views were unreal.
6. Traveling with your Best Friends
One of the BEST parts about spring break in Nassau was being able to travel with your best friends. My entire suite was able to come on the break along with 60 other students from my school. It’s all about making memories when it comes to your senior year of college. Nothing beats being able to go on a beach vacation, relax, and have fun when you are surrounded by a great group of people.
Spring break was definitely a good time and I would much rather be in the Bahamas soaking in the sun instead of sitting in a classroom. If you have the opportunity to plan a spring break trip for your senior year, you definitely should go for it! It will be one of your best memories from college.
Ciao for now xoxo,
